Terms and conditions for advertising on CareersConnect@SI
CareersConnect@SI is a web-based administration system that provides an electronic communication hub between students, employers and the TAFE NSW, Sydney Institute Careers Connect Service.
CareersConnect@SI is an online database used by TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute to advertise job vacancies to students of TAFE NSW.
CareersConnect@SI reserves the right to refuse any person or organisation use of this service.
All job advertisements submitted to CareersConnect@SI must comply with national and state legislation including but not limited to misleading or deceptive advertising, non-discrimination and equal opportunity.
CareersConnect@SI is designed as an employer self-service facility.
It is the employer's responsibility to fully and satisfactorily complete all of the required information. Failure to do so may result in the job vacancy not being accepted.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute requires all employers to provide the following information:
The full name of the organisation or individual advertising the job vacancy.
The full name of a contact person.
The address and phone numbers (land line and mobile) of the organisation, individual or contact person.
An adequate description of the nature of the work being offered, which relates to a genuine job vacancy.
An appropriate hourly rate of pay, or the name of a relevant award or job classification (immediate-start, part-time, casual and contract advertisements only).
An Australian Business Number (ABN). The ABN is used to verify that the employer is a registered business. In the event that you do not hold an ABN you must provide the name, title and contact details of two (2) referees. These referees will be contacted to act as a character reference and to verify the vacancy.
Only genuine job vacancies are to be submitted. TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute will not accept advertisements that are:
For work involving any unpaid training, trial periods or reduced pay;
For work involving any illegal activity;
For work that is not a genuine employment opportunity;
For work paid as commission only;
Providing a job opportunity that is considered inappropriate.
Student Work Placements
ALL of the following conditions must be met for an unpaid work placement to be included on CareersConnect@SI:
The position/duties are course-related and/or assist with skills development;
The placement is between 40-80 hours in duration (preferably over a period no longer than 6 months);
The placement does not involve duties of a high-risk nature, does not require an unconventional mode of travel (eg. jeep, helicopter, tank) and is not located in a remote area within Australia; and
The placement is primarily undertaken on commercial premises, or if field work, performed under appropriate supervision.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute reserves the right to withdraw or refuse any advertisement where:
Non-compliance with these terms and conditions has occurred;
Misleading or incorrect information has been provided;
Complaints about the advertiser have been received;
The job opportunity is considered to be inappropriate; or
The behaviour of the employer in his / her involvement with CareersConnect@SI is deemed by TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute to be unethical.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute will be under no liability to users and employers in respect of any loss or damage (including consequential loss or damage) which may be suffered or incurred or which may arise directly or indirectly in respect of services supplied by TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute.
Advertisers agree to indemnify TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute and its staff against all claims, actions, suits, costs and expenses incurred on any account by TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute as a result of their advertisement.
Employers advertising on CareersConnect@SI must abide by these terms and conditions for employers. TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute checks that all opportunities featured on CareersConnect@SI comply with our terms and conditions for employers, however, we do not accept responsibility for advertisers who provide inaccurate, misleading or false information.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute does not necessarily recommend or endorse any organisations or service providers featured on CareersConnect@SI.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute does not act as an agent for the employer.
Employers agree that all information they provide in their advertisement and services do not breach any law or the rights of any person (including national and state legislation regarding Fair Trading, Equal Opportunity and Human Rights).
Advertisers can lodge job advertisements via the internet at any time and must be aware that all job advertisements will be approved by CareersConnect@SI staff at TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute before being made available for access by students. Advertisements are processed Monday to Friday between 9.00am EST and 5.00pm EST, except for TAFE NSW holidays and public holidays.
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute may use employers' email addresses to:
update them about CareersConnect@SI
clarify vacancy details as necessary
alert them to other services to facilitate recruitment
send career-related/ employment notices
undertake labour market research
ask questions to assist in managing the CareersConnect@SI
for liaison purposes with TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute
TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute is subject to the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and will not disclose to anyone else personal information stored by users on CareersConnect@SI without their consent unless authorised or required to do so by law.
You must pay your advertisement fee Invoice prior to your advertisement going live on our site. For all other payments standard TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute payment terms apply that is 14 days.
